MedINav complements and extends STANLEY Healthcare’s AeroScout® RTLS platform to improve patient experience, patient flow and operational efficiency

WALTHAM, MA and NEW YORK, NY, March 31, 2015STANLEY Healthcare, the KLAS Category Leader for Real-Time Location Systems (RTLS), and Connexient, the leading Digital Wayfinding and Indoor Navigation solution for hospitals and health networks, today announced a partnership to add Connexient’s MediNav Wayfinding solution to STANLEY Healthcare’s solution portfolio. The companies also plan to develop product integrations that will enable healthcare providers to manage and improve the patient experience not only within the hospital but along the entire continuum of care.

The addition of Connexient’s MediNav solution to STANLEY Healthcare’s portfolio provides hospitals and health systems with yet another tool to manage the flow of patients and people in the facility. MediNav Navigator v. 2.0 provides a door-to-door approach to wayfinding, and location-services that solves real world problems for patients, visitors and staff. MediNav can be integrated with EHR appointment scheduling systems to reduce missed or late appointments and drive a personalized patient experience:

  1. The patient receives a HIPAA-compliant SMS appointment reminder, with a link to the MediNav mobile application.
  2. MediNav securely displays appointment details, along with a recommended parking garage based on the interior location of the appointment, and turn-by-turn driving directions.
  3. At the parking garage, the patient can save the parking spot location for easy navigation back to their vehicle after the appointment.
  4. In the hospital, a Welcome screen offers the patient e-Check-in options and turn-by-turn indoor navigation to their appointment. At the same time, hospital staff is notified of the patient’s arrival.

This end-to-end management of the patient journey enables hospitals to directly address some of the most common complaints on HCAHPS surveys, particularly difficulties with wayfinding and parking. MediNav provides powerful location-based reporting and analytics on patient, visitor and staff workflows and dwell times, giving hospital administrators actionable intelligence to improve the patient experience, drive higher HCAHPS scores, capture lost revenues by reducing missed appointments, and improving staff efficiency by reducing late appointments and time lost directing patients.

NEW YORK (September 4, 2014) -- Mark Green, CEO of Connexient announced today that the Global Center for Health Innovation, based in Cleveland, OH, has selected Connexient's mobile-based Visitor Experience and Wayfinding solution. The agreement sets the stage to integrate Mutare's secure Vital Link™ notification system with Connexient's MediNav™ rich indoor mapping platform to launch the first-ever, HIPAA-compliant hospital navigation app with full smart notification integration.

Utilizing indoor positioning technology and EHR integration, the new MediNav Communicator Edition enables hospitals to deliver a superior patient experience while optimizing operational efficiency. When deployed on patients' smartphones, the white label Hospital app provides:

  • Auto-generated appointment reminders linked to home-to-office navigation, resulting in a significant reduction in missed or late appointments;
  • Automatic detection and prompt for indoor route mapping when the user enters a facility, assuring a stress-free transit;
  • Dynamic "blue dot" confirmation of the user's location en route with auto-alerts of nearby significant places within the facility;
  • Automatic pre-arrival notification sent to the medical office reception when the patient is nearing;
  • Pre-appointment mobile check-in that minimizes patient wait time while maximizing efficient care delivery;
  • Event and/or location-based alerts and reminders, such as prescription ready notifications;
  • Delivery of post-discharge medication/appointment reminders and self-care instructions for better care outcomes and reduced re-admissions
  • Ongoing patient engagement through secure messaging of relevant information, including links that encourage use of the EMR patient portal. Patient participation in their own care management assures better outcomes for the patient and closer compliance with Meaningful Use standards for the healthcare provider.
