Digital Wayfinding and Indoor Navigation an Important Tool in the

Consumerization of Care, the #1 Healthcare IT Trend of 2019

NEW YORK (February 7, 2019) – Connexient, the healthcare leader in digital wayfinding and indoor GPS announced today double-digit growth in 2018, adding multiple marquee health system clients to its customer base. Connexient’s MediNav™ is the most advanced digital wayfinding and indoor navigation solution available for hospitals and healthcare networks.

This year-over-year growth is due in part to the strong demand for a more seamless, digitally enabled, customer-oriented Patient Experience.  According to David Betts, Principal in Deloittte Consulting’s Healthcare practice, “the consumerization of care is the number one healthcare IT trend of 2019. Patient and family are firmly in the center now and that’s driving a lot of disruption.  We’ve seen an acceleration of consumers running out of patience with the challenges they have engaging with the system.”

  • Launched a major new release of MediNav (Version 3.0), and successfully completed an enterprise-wide deployment of V3.0 at 12 BayCare Health System hospital sites
  • Joined Epic’s App Orchard and announced plans to connect MediNav with Epic’s MyChart at Rush University Medical Center and Hackensack Meridian Health.
  • Closed a major, multi-hospital enterprise agreement with Hackensack Meridian Health
  • Gartner named Connexient “Cool Vendor for Wayfinding 2018” and sees Digital Wayfinding as a requirement for healthcare networks.

New Connexient clients in 2018 include the following: Hackensack Meridian Health Jersey Shore Hospital, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Mission Health System, Good Samaritan Hospital, St. Joseph/Candler Health System and Rush University Medical Center. The company continues to expand within its existing base of major clients including: National Institutes of Health (NIH) Clinic, UAB Medicine, BayCare Health System, St. Joseph/Providence Health System, Memorial Hermann, Froedtert Hospital, WMC Health, RWJBarnabus, Atlantic Health System and more.

“We ended 2018 on a very positive note with 60 hospitals now under contract, and a total square footage of 70 million square feet mapped,” said Connexient CEO and Co-founder, Mark Green. “We enter 2019 with a very robust pipeline.  There is significant client interest in our new ‘MediNav™ for MyChart™’ module. We look forward to debuting this integrated solution at the upcoming HIMSS 2019 Conference in Orlando.”

New technology is latest in network’s innovative strategies to enhance patient experience

Edison, NJ – February 13, 2019 - Hackensack Meridian Health, New Jersey’s largest and most integrated health network, is pleased to announce it is partnering with Connexient, the health care leader in digital wayfinding and indoor GPS, to help patients and families better navigate the network’s 17 hospitals.

"We are deeply committed to enhancing the experience of our patients and their families,’’ said Robert C. Garrett, CEO of Hackensack Meridian Health. “We are constantly scanning the horizon for new technology to help us make care as convenient as possible for our patients."

Hackensack Meridian Health initially deployed Connexient’s MediNav™ successfully at Hackensack University Medical Center and plans to launch the technology at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in March. Ultimately, it will be deployed at all network hospitals. Additionally, Connexient’s MediNav™ will be integrated with Epic’s MyChart within the HMH Well mobile application which gives users access to lab results, appointment information, current medications, immunization history and more on their mobile device.

MediNav™ provides the world’s most advanced turn-by-turn indoor navigation with popular features like Parking Planner and Meet Me.

“By integrating indoor mapping and navigation with MyChart’s appointment information, we are empowering patients to more easily find their way to their appointments,’’ said Kunle Modupe, Vice President of Hospitality Services at Hackensack Meridian Health. “This will reduce late arrivals to appointments, and create a great patient experience

Following on these deployments of the MediNav™ technology, Hackensack Meridian Health will work in partnership with Connexient to create additional functionality by integrating Epic MyChart’s appointment scheduling with MediNav’s indoor GPS and location services. This collaboration will create a seamless, “home to appointment” experience for patients.

"Taking existing applications and combining them in a new and powerful way allows Hackensack Meridian Health to continue to leverage our technology solutions to further advance the patient experience throughout the health care process at Hackensack Meridian Health," said David Reis, Ph.D., Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Hackensack Meridian Health.

“We are excited to partner with Hackensack Meridian Health to integrate Epic’s MyChart and MediNav™,” added Mark Green, Connexient’s CEO and Co-Founder. “HMH’s vision and ability to execute will enable us to deliver value to patients and visitors as part of an overall digital consumer strategy.”

NEW YORK (NOVEMBER 27, 2018) -- Connexient announced today a #GivingTuesday partnership with Hackensack Meridian Health.  On Tuesday, November 27, Connexient will deliver over 1,000 compassionate compression kits to patients being treated at Hackensack University Medical Center. The kits include a pair of stylish compression socks, an eye mask and ear plugs packaged in a clear zippered bag.  Compression socks increase circulation, decrease swelling and reduce the risk of blood clots.

(Left to right) Connexient CEO, Mark Green was joined by Hackensack Meridian Health co-CEO, Bob Garret; Hackensack University Medical Center FACHE, President of Population Health at Hackensack Meridian Health, Mark D. Sparta; Vice President Hospitality Services at Hackensack Meridian Health Kunle Modupe and Joe Motta, co-founder and President at Connexient.

“We wanted to do something meaningful for those who won’t be home for the holidays this year,” said Connexient co-founder and president, Joe Motta.  “By giving Hackensack patients compassionate compression kits, we’re hopefully providing comfort during their treatment and recovery.”

#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving fueled by social media and collaboration. It falls after Black Friday and Cyber Monday and reminds us to get in the holiday spirit by helping our friends, families, colleagues and communities.

“We are thrilled Connexient thought of us for this #GivingTuesday campaign,” said Peter Hughes, vice president of Strategic Partnerships at Hackensack Meridian Health.  “It’s a great gift for our patients and a nice way to engage our team members to help distribute the compassionate kits. This partnership knocks our socks off.”

Knock your socks off is a saying that can be traced back to 1856 when a newspaper described a flu remedy as defeating the common cold virus by knocking its socks off.  In more recent years, it became a positive phrase meaning that you were impressed or delightfully surprised by something.
